Before travel

Before your dog travels.

We confirm the journey only when the important checks are in place.

A rescue dog transport is not just a drive. It involves animal welfare, import rules, veterinary documents, route planning, border timing, and the needs of each dog travelling.

Before we confirm your dog’s place, we check:

  • the dog’s identity and microchip details
  • collection location in Romania
  • final delivery address in the UK
  • rescue or partner details
  • travel date and route suitability
  • required documents and health checks
  • any medical, behavioural, age-related, or handling notes
  • contact details for the adopter and rescue
  • emergency contact details for arrival day

We may ask for additional information before confirming a booking. This is not to slow things down — it is to prevent problems later.

If something is missing, unclear, expired, or not suitable for travel, we pause before the journey begins. Welfare and legal compliance come first.

UK import rules are strict. We do not move a dog until the required checks and documents are complete — including identity, vaccination, Brucella canis testing, and the commercial import notifications required for dogs travelling from Romania into Great Britain.

What we need from you

Your adopter checklist before departure. To help us plan a smooth delivery, please make sure we have the following.

Contact details

  • Your full name.
  • Best mobile number for journey updates.
  • Backup phone number, if possible.
  • Email address.
  • Emergency contact.

Delivery details

  • Full delivery address.
  • Correct postcode.
  • Any gate codes, parking notes, narrow road details, or access issues.
  • Whether the delivery address is a house, flat, farm, rural property, or shared-access building.
  • Whether we can safely stop near your door.

Arrival day availability

  • You, or an agreed adult, must be available during the confirmed delivery window.
  • Please keep your phone nearby.
  • If your address is difficult to find, send extra instructions before the team reaches your area.
  • Avoid planning work shifts, school runs, vet appointments, or social plans close to the expected delivery time.

Home preparation

Please have ready:

  • a secure collar
  • a well-fitted harness
  • a lead, ideally two leads for safety
  • ID tag if already available
  • water bowl
  • quiet resting area
  • towels or washable bedding
  • simple food, ideally matching what the rescue recommends
  • poo bags
  • baby gates or room dividers, if useful
  • a calm entry plan

Please do not invite friends or family over for arrival. Your dog needs quiet, not a welcome party.
