Who we are

ADOPTR.UK is operated by ADOPTR LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16774516, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

What personal data we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, phone number and organisation or family name
  • journey enquiry details such as collection area, delivery address and timing
  • communications you send to us by email, contact form or messaging platforms
  • booking, invoicing and payment-related records where a transport service is agreed
  • operational notes needed to coordinate a safe handover and delivery

We ask that rescue partners and adopters only share personal data that is genuinely needed for the enquiry or booking.

How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • keep adopters and rescue partners updated while a trip is underway
  • manage invoicing, records, complaints and business administration
  • protect our business, animals, staff and customers from misuse or unsafe requests

Our legal bases

We normally rely on one or more of the following legal bases under UK data protection law:

  • taking steps at your request before entering into a contract
  • performing a contract where a booking is confirmed
  • our legitimate interests in running and protecting a specialist transport service
  • complying with legal or regulatory obligations where they apply

Who we share data with

We only share personal data where it is necessary for the enquiry or journey. This may include:

  • rescue organisations, shelters, adopters or foster contacts involved in the same journey
  • professional advisers, insurers, accountants or payment providers
  • technology and website providers who support our email, hosting or communications
  • authorities, regulators or enforcement bodies where disclosure is legally required

We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including record-keeping, legal, tax, insurance or dispute reasons.

As a general guide, enquiry records may be kept for up to 24 months, while booking and transaction records may be kept for longer where accounting, legal or compliance needs apply.
