Clear terms for bookings, accounts and transport.

These terms cover the public website, My ADOPTR and the rescue portal, public booking requests and transport services accepted by us. A booking confirmation may contain journey-specific terms, price and payer details. If there is a conflict, mandatory law applies first, then the booking confirmation, then these terms.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter the contract. If you act for an organisation, payer, importer, rescue, adopter or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so and to provide the operational contacts needed for the journey.

An organisation named in a public form is not treated as an approved ADOPTR partner or granted Rescue Portal access unless ADOPTR separately validates and links it. Portal access requires its own invitation.

1. Submitting the form creates an unverified request and does not reserve capacity.
2. After email verification, the request becomes a pending booking and temporarily consumes the displayed journey capacity while ADOPTR reviews it.
3. A pending booking is not acceptance and is not a contract for transport.
4. The transport contract is formed only when ADOPTR sends an approval confirmation identifying the booking, journey and accepted price or pricing basis.

We may reject a request, including where capacity, compliance, welfare, route, information or safety requirements are not met. We will give a reason. Rejection releases capacity and does not create a transport charge.

The requested service is animal transport on the selected departure, with the collection, delivery and optional services shown in the booking. Dates and times are estimates unless the confirmation expressly says otherwise; border, welfare, traffic, weather and route conditions can affect them.

The form displays an estimate in GBP from the service rates applicable when submitted. The confirmation states the accepted amount or basis. A public guest keeps the accepted public-price snapshot. A contractual organisation rate applies only through a billing account explicitly linked before the form is submitted.

Brucella arrangement is a separate service for dogs. Requesting it is not a statement that sampling has occurred, that the laboratory result is negative, or that the dog is cleared to travel. No extra charge will be imposed without a contractual basis and clear information. Payment method and due date are stated on the invoice or confirmation.

If you contract as a consumer, you normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is formed to cancel without giving a reason. To cancel, use My ADOPTR where that option is available or make any clear statement to hello@adoptr.uk. You do not have to use the model wording below.

If you expressly ask us to begin the service during that period and then cancel, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for what was supplied up to cancellation. If the service is fully performed after your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right ends.

Model cancellation wording: “To ADOPTR LTD, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, hello@adoptr.uk: I give notice that I cancel my contract for booking [booking reference], formed on [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date: [date].”

These rights do not affect remedies for a service that is not performed with reasonable care and skill or as agreed.

Before approval, a pending booking can be cancelled through My ADOPTR without a transport charge, and can be edited before its displayed deadline. A journey change creates a replacement booking and preserves the earlier booking history.

After approval, contact us promptly about changes or cancellation. Outside a statutory cancellation right, any cancellation amount will be limited to fair, evidenced direct loss caused by the cancellation, taking account of costs avoided and our reasonable steps to reduce loss. We do not treat a stated deposit or charge as automatically non-refundable.

We may change, postpone or cancel where reasonably necessary for animal welfare, compliance, border or authority decisions, vehicle or route safety, extreme weather or events outside reasonable control. We will inform you, offer a reasonable alternative where practical, and apply statutory refund or repeat-performance rights.

Rescue and rehoming movements into Great Britain are treated as commercial movements and must use the applicable Balai regime, not ordinary pet-travel rules. The responsible importer, exporter, rescue and other parties must supply accurate documents and complete their legal tasks, including registered-origin-premises evidence, health certification, IPAFFS notification and Approved Importer requirements where applicable.

Animals must meet the requirements applicable to their species and origin. These may include microchip identification before rabies vaccination, the required vaccination and waiting period, dog tapeworm treatment, and veterinary certification. For commercial import of a dog from Romania, a negative Brucella canis result is required before import under the rules in force from 7 October 2025.

ADOPTR may assist operationally or check readiness, but does not assume another party's legal role merely by accepting a booking. We may refuse carriage if evidence is incomplete, inconsistent, late or suggests the movement would be unlawful.

You must disclose information reasonably relevant to safe transport, including health, behaviour, medication and handling needs, and ensure the animal is fit for the planned journey. Each transporter remains responsible for the welfare rules applying to its own leg.

We may adjust the route, separate animals where needed, pause travel or seek veterinary help where reasonably necessary for welfare or safety. We will try to contact the authorised person first, but urgent care may be arranged without prior contact. Reasonable third-party emergency costs remain the responsibility of the agreed payer where law and the circumstances permit.

Keep account access secure and information accurate. Do not submit misleading information, interfere with the service, access another person's booking, or use personal information outside the relevant booking, welfare, handover or support purpose.

We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect accounts, people, animals or the service. Account-to-booking access is granted explicitly; similarity of email, name or organisation does not create access.

For consumers, we provide services with reasonable care and skill and information about the service that the law makes binding. Nothing in these terms removes statutory consumer rights.

Nothing excludes or limits liability where unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. We are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate or withheld information, another party's failure to meet its legal responsibility, or an event outside reasonable control, except to the extent our own breach caused the loss or the law says otherwise.

Business customers remain responsible for losses and compliance risks within their own role. Any separate business agreement may set additional liability terms, but cannot override mandatory law.

Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information is used. Website content is general information and not veterinary or legal advice. Cross-border rules can change, so current official requirements and the booking confirmation take priority.

ADOPTR branding and original site content belong to ADOPTR LTD or are used with permission. Third-party links are provided for convenience; we do not control their content or security.

Send service complaints to hello@adoptr.uk with the booking reference and desired outcome. We will acknowledge and investigate them. Nothing prevents a consumer from using available statutory or court remedies.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you keep mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available under applicable consumer law.

The version accepted when a booking is submitted is stored with that booking. Later changes do not rewrite that snapshot. We will present materially changed terms for fresh acceptance where required.
