We started by driving the van ourselves.
ADOPTR began with one van and a thirty-hour drive from Romania. Every promise on this page comes from something we learned on those roads: the test that came back a day late, the family who called at every stop, the dog who needed one more walk.

What we promise every family.
Most transporters drive the van. We look after the dog and the people waiting for her.
- Her own compartmentOne numbered space per dog, with bedding and water. She never shares with a dog she doesn’t know.
- We are her importerADOPTR LTD takes legal responsibility for bringing her into Great Britain. Nothing lands on you.
- No surprises at the borderEvery paper is checked before she boards. If one is missing, she waits for the next van, safe where she is.
- A message at every stopA photo and a line from the driver: walked, drank, resting. You never have to ask how she is.
- Live on your phoneA private link shows the van on the map and the time we expect to reach you, updated as we drive.
- A call before we ringWe call you about thirty minutes before we arrive, so you are home, calm and ready.
- A handover behind a closed doorNever on the pavement. Inside your home or garden, chip scanned in front of you, lead in your hand.
- We check in afterA message the next day and a week later. If anything worries you, you can reply and talk to a person.
- Something that smells of beforeWe ask her rescue for a blanket from her bed, so she arrives with a smell she knows.
- A person on the phone, day and nightWhile she is on the road, our phone is answered at any hour, by someone who knows where she is.
